For Program Managers

Create and manage Incentive Programs for your organization

You have a goal: fund great work, run a hackathon, distribute grants, coordinate bounties. Incented gives you the tools to make it happen without the spreadsheet chaos.

As a Program Manager, you define the rules, fund the pools, and let the protocol handle the rest. Contributors submit, voters evaluate, and rewards flow automatically.

Guides

What You'll Need

Before you start, make sure you have:

  • Organization admin access - Programs belong to organizations on Incented (get in touch to set one up)
  • A connected wallet - For signing transactions
  • Funding - Tokens for your award pool and voting pool
  • Multisig owners - Wallet addresses for the people who will approve payouts (you can start with just yourself and add more later)

Before You Create

Have these decisions ready:

  • What you're funding - Clear description of what you're looking for
  • Timeline - When submissions open, how long voting lasts, how many cycles
  • Budget - How much for winners (award pool) and how much for voters (voting pool)
  • Winner selection - Top X performers or anyone meeting a quality threshold
  • Slash percentage - How much incorrect voters lose (5-10% is a good starting point)

The Workflow

Program Manager Workflow

  1. Design - Decide what you're funding and how
  2. Create - Set up the program with your parameters
  3. Fund - Deposit tokens into the award and voting pools
  4. Launch - Activate when ready (or schedule for later)
  5. Monitor - Watch submissions come in, voters participate
  6. Settle - Review results and approve payouts via multisig

Key Decisions

One-Time or Recurring?

  • Single cycle - Hackathons, one-off grants, time-bounded initiatives
  • Multiple cycles - Ongoing bounty programs, recurring community content creation, etc.

How to Pick Winners?

MethodUse When
Top XYou have limited slots ("fund the top 5 projects each cycle")
QuorumYou want to fund anything good enough (e.g. "60% approval wins")

How to Split Rewards?

TypeUse When
FixedEvery winner gets the same amount
Split EqualDivide pool equally among winners (count unknown upfront)
Split ProportionalHigher-voted submissions get bigger share

Slash Percentage

This controls voter incentives:

  • 0% - No penalty, but voters may not take it seriously
  • 5-10% - Good balance of incentive without scaring people off
  • 20%+ - Strong accountability, but may reduce participation
